G20 Summit Overview

The G20 Summit, or Group of Twenty Summit, is an international forum for governments and central bank governors from 19 countries and the European Union (EU). The G20 was established in 1999 in response to various financial crises in the late 1990s, with the first G20 Leaders' Summit taking place in 2008 in response to the global financial crisis. The G20 countries represent a mix of major advanced and emerging economies, and they come together annually to discuss and coordinate policies related to global economic stability and growth.
